Two strategies, One ocean
The concept of Moana Immersion:
Fear ends where courage begins
“Moana” is Hawaiian and means “Ocean, open sea, lake” but also “broad, wide, extended, expansive”.
“Immersion” is the action of diving into a liquid. It also has the meaning of deep mental involvement in something. In Freediving there is a discipline called free immersion and in general deep mental involvement is required as one of the most important skills in freediving.
Moana-Immersion seminars bring the freediving skills and experiences beyond the water. We offer you a setting of deep personal work to explore the depth within yourself. Even without any freediving practice, you can participate in any of the Moana-Immersion courses or retreats. Often the goal is not the end of your path but rather the beginning to new goals.
Our mission at Moana-Immersion is to support you on your journey to your destiny. You can develop your own body, mind and soul balance by working from within the human psyche. We address key physical, emotional and mental challenges, which empowers you to learn, grow and gain self esteem, responsibility and happiness. You will see that life not just happens to you, you choose to live with joy.
The BODY is part of a complex system of integral and physical mater that we often put in context with appearance, health/disease and function. Our most common 5 senses (seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling and touching) are known as a physical ability of our body to perceive our world. Since the medical progress of dissecting cadavers, a new way of understanding diseases was born: Scientists started to look at physical signs in the body that would cause illness, make everything that was scientifically measurable and allegeable responsible for the illness. This way of splitting body, mind and soul, has lead to a system that focused on treating symptoms instead of going to the roots. Today, we know that there is more than just a body… Learning the techniques and concepts of freediving with us, you will immerse yourself into a whole new discovery of your full being.
The MIND is part of our body which includes the brain and also cell memories, consciousness and feelings/emotions. Through focus, we determine how we are feeling. Feelings are created by our mind conscious or not. Since we can change our focus and thoughts, we can change our feelings. Developing awareness and acceptance with compassion and love is the key to make different choices. Taking one step at the time is the path on the journey. We will guide you through the “water”.
The SOUL is seen as the part that is immortal and immaterial. While sometimes we get a glimpse of what the soul is, for example through meditation, deep sleep or powerful experiences, scientific research cannot easily define what soul is. Our retreats invite you to explore the depth and connection to your soul.
The depth of the subject is often a question of perspective
The concept of FreediveMaui:
We dive the extra mile with you
Freediving is one of the rare activities where a task is performed with maximum relaxation, no active breathing and with the elimination of some of our senses, for example taste/smell. You learn, trust, develop and train skills but you rely on only one thing: Yourself. This is your discovery and time and we are here to support you in your process!
For freediving the body and mind are the most important tools that we need and since both can be trained (physical and mental), there is nothing in the way that can keep you from immersing yourself into the water and your soul.
As active AIDA instructors, we teach to the highest quality standards to build your personal freediving experiences and level. You can explore freediving through courses, retreats, individual coaching sessions or online support. If you are like us, that setting goals is a fundamental aspect of your life, freediving is probably the ultimate activity for you since there is no fixed finish line that you cannot challenge. You will benefit from continuous personal improvements whether it is in the water or on land. Regardless if you want to go deeper, hold your breath longer or improve your techniques, the concept of freediving revolves around one important aspect: The less stressed you are, the better your performance will be. This is easier said than done but that is exactly why we are here to show you how to do it. No doubt that freediving requires mental and physical resilience, discipline and practice. Yet, you will determine yourself how far and how fast you want to grow. The same is true for your daily life: challenges are inevitable, the key is to find the best way how to deal with them, so you can learn and thrive.
